Hi Everyone
Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, The Family Affair is back, bigger, better and stronger than before.
The show returns this Saturday (17 January) at its usual time of 2pm UK and 9am Eastern. Myself and Danny are thrilled to be back on Phoenix Radio and with all of you.
To launch our return I am planning to present three Specials. For various reasons these shows will be pre-recorded but while they are being broadcast I will be on my computer, so you can still email me with any comments about the show, or the songs I play or anything else you would like to talk about. Just send me an email to familyaffair@phoenixradio1208.com and I will reply to you.
The first Special will be this Saturday and it Will be a Heaven Sent Special on which we will have the chance to remember and pay tribute to the music artists who passed away in 2025. Also at the end of this show there will be a Special Announcement to do with the Miles family.
The second Special, which will be on air on 24 January, will be a Celebration Special because the following day it willl be a year since the first Family Affair. I’ll be playing songs about the different occasions that we celebrate, such as Anniversaries, Birthdays, Weddings and of course the obligatory party that accompanies them. If you have any memories for the past year that you would like to share or if you have any requests for songs to do with celebrations, could you please send them to me by email at familyaffair@phoenixradio1208.com by close of play on Saturday 17 January as we are planning to record the show early next week.
The third Special will be on 31 January and this will be a Top Tunes Special. In this show I will be playing all the UK Number One Singles from June 1959 to February 1961.
If you’re missing The Family Takeover, don’t worry, it will be back very soon.
